Drew Sineath & Associates Sponsor 1st Annual Riverfront Race Festival

Tuesday, January 19th, 2010

Drew Sineath & Associates was at it again as we were out at the recent 1st Annual Riverfront Race Festival this past weekend. The Fitness Expo was held at 10 Storehouse Row on the Navy Yard at Noisette Friday evening. The day began with the culmination of the kids ½ marathon. Each participant was asked to log 12 miles leading up to final 1.1 mile run on Friday. I must boast a little as my oldest daughter, Ellie, participated in the event. She ran the final 1.1 mile race in 7:46! She turned around the following day and competed in the 5K race and finished in just over 33 minutes. This is her first ever 5K. Way to go Ellie!

We had a wonderful time at the expo on Friday as we were able to once again pass out our awesome Drew Sineath & Associates “go green” grocery bags. The bags were a big hit! We met some wonderful people. There were well-seasoned race participants and some newbies to the ½ marathon distance. We saw plenty of new faces and some very familiar faces. I was able to meet Kendall Shows from Summerville SC. Kendall enjoys competing in triathlons. I had seen his face at several races but had never spoken to him. He finished the ½ marathon in 1:42. Nice race Kendall, and I’ll be calling you soon!

Trainer Tracy Barthold from Goose Creek SC was on hand and ran a wonderful race finishing at 1:50. Since that 2008 Charlie Post Race when I passed her near the finish line, Tracy has left me in the dust. Way to go Tracy! And to all of my triathlon buddies: you all blew past me. But I’ll be back! Hahahahah.

This event also offered a 5K and a 10K race. The race coordinators hope to add a full marathon at the 2nd Annual Riverfront Race Festival. I have got a long way to go to get back in full marathon shape. I’ll be working toward getting into triathlon shape starting in February. The race didn’t go as fast as I had hoped. I finished at 2:21 which is off from my 1:55 finishing time from the 2008 Save the Light ½ marathon at Folly Beach. But I had fun, nonetheless. I just thank God that the calf cramps held off enough to allow me to finish. And I owe a big thank you to Angie Klick from TrySports. Angie recommended some things that got me through the final two miles. If anyone has a way to rid themselves from getting calf cramps please share by sending me an email at drew@drewsineath.com.

Our next event will be the Flowertown Festival in March. Make sure to follow Drew Sineath & Associates on Twitter and Facebook. Make plans to come by our booth and say hello. Also be sure to register on our front page for Market Snapshot. As always stay safe and be blessed!

We had a fabulous 2009 with over 63 transaction sides closed for over $11 million in sales. This concluded my best year in the business. We had a very successful 3rd Annual Fall Festival with over 1,400 attendees, raising over 1,100 pounds of food and $400 in cash for the Helping Hands of Goose Creek. We added a new buyer’s representative, Andrea Parler, over the summer. We also administered our first ever Home Buyer Seminar. We had 29 attendees. Of the 29 attendees, three of these buyers have already purchased a home!

We have set the bar high for 2010. We are setting a goal of over 90 transaction sides closed for over $16 million. We will once again host our annual Fall Festival, October 23, 2010. We will also administer a Home Buyer Seminar, May 8, in connection with Family Services at the Goose Creek Recreation Center. We have also planned outdoor events starting this week. Drew Sineath & Associates will be at the 1st Annual Riverfront Race Festival in North Charleston this Friday from 5-8. Lowcountry Highrollers fell to Johnson City (TN) 102-96

Tuesday, September 22nd, 2009

The inaugural home season of roller derby in Charleston SC in this era came to an end last night as the Lowcountry Highrollers fell to Johnson City (TN) 102-96 at The Citadel’s McAlister’s Fieldhouse. The Charleston team took an undefeated Johnson City team to the brink before losing in the end. It was a very intense match that kept most of the fans in attendance on their feet. Charleston had a chance to win in the end beginning its final “jam” with less than 30 seconds left trailing 98-93. However, Johnson City was just too much for Charleston who ran out of steam at the end.

I attended four bouts this year and saw the team drastically improve each week. Last nights effort was strong considering the Johnson City team came in undefeated. Our sister-in-law competes on the Charleston squad and last night was “Fight Like a Girl Night” to help raise awareness for breast cancer. The fans were encouraged to dress in pink and some didn’t disappoint. The best dressed fan won an autograph guitar signed by the rock group Nickleback. Click here to see pictures of the show.

The team has plans of competing again in 2010. If you haven’t ever seen roller derby live you should consider coming out. It can be very entertaining to say the least. These girls work hard and train even harder. With one final bout remaining in Savannah GA next month, the team will try to earn its third win of the season. Take it to ‘em girls!

Kiawah Olympic Triathlon Completes Season for Goose Creek Realtor Drew Sineath

Monday, September 21st, 2009

The triathlon season is over for me in 2009! On Sunday, September 20, 2009, I participated in the annual Kiawah (Olympic) Triathlon. This triathlon covers a distance of just under a 1-mile ocean swim, 27-mile bike and a 6.2-mile run. This has been the longest distance triathlon that I have participated in. I just started this season.

I wanted to compete last season but couldn’t find the time to train. This season I was blessed with a lot of support from my family. I was able to beginning training at the end of May. What I have learned from this season: start training earlier in the year for the season that begins in May and do more training runs!

Being new to the sport this season, I trained a lot more on the swim and bike. I paid for that on Sunday. While I could have done a little better on the swim and bike, I was satisfied and stayed with the pack for most of the race. The run was a different story! The lack of training runs really showed. By the time it came to the run, I found myself giving in to the fact that my time was going to be slow. I started way to slow and finished even slower. I crossed the finish line in just over three hours and 13 minutes, just under my goal time of 3:15! The leg cramps that came in mile 5 of the run were impossible to overcome. I am looking forward to improving next season. Anyone for a long run?

I don’t want to sound all doom and gloom! What a blessing to actually finish such an event. I just have a competitor’s spirit, which was a little diminished after yesterday’s finish. The best part of the day was when my daughter Ellie crossed the finish line at my side! I have a wonderful, supportive family, including my dad, who sat out in 85 degree temperatures for over three hours to catch just glimpse of me as I passed by. The other wonderful part is all of the great people that you meet at these events. I have formed some great relationships over the last several months. And finally thanks to Marea, who also came out to support me and take pictures! I’m ready for 2010. Bring it on! But not just yet as it is going to be nice to rest this week! As always stay safe and be blessed!

An Amazing Day in Charleston, SC the Holy City

Friday, September 11th, 2009

It is an amazing day in the Holy City! The weather is awesome. I am excited about the game this weekend over in Athens. And no, I am not pulling for the Gamecocks. I have been a Dawg fan since I was 7 years old! So GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Dawgs. Sic ‘em!

Please take some time today to thank a veteran and pray for our country as we remember the tragic events from eight years ago today. My prayers also go out to the loved ones that lost family members that day. Freedom doesn’t come for free. We can never take it for granted! Thanks to all who are fighting our battles overseas and here at home! Hurray for the TEA PARTIES! Remind those folks in Washington, D.C., who they work for. US!

I am gearing up for my final triathlon of the season. I’ll be down at Kiawah next Sunday for the Kiawah Olympic Triathlon. This triathlon covers a distance of just under a 1-mile ocean swim, a 27-mile bike and a 6.2-mile run! Crazy, I know, but well worth the effort! Come out and support the participants. It’s a great time!

I have enjoyed getting to know all of the people that I have run into during my races and training. We have had some great laughs during our training sessions. Thanks to all of you who have been so gracious to let me tag along! Let’s have a great race!

We are remaining quite steady with a good flow of business. We ratified several contracts just this week! The market is starting to stabilize. So buyers get off the fence! There is less than 80 days left to apply for the $8,000 tax credit, interest rates are low and prices are even lower!

Keep us in mind for any referrals of anyone that is looking to buy or sell a home in the near future! As always stay safe and be blessed!

Goose Creek Realtor Competes in 2009 Charleston Sprint Triathlon Series

Wednesday, August 19th, 2009

The 2009 Charleston Sprint Triathlon Series came to an end this Sunday. I not only participated in the final race but became a secondary sponsor to the event by giving away string along bags commemorating the event! We handed out over 400 bags during the two days. We met some awesome people. There were a lot of first time participants to the triathlon. I remember meeting Elizabeth and her friend Robin who were very excited about their first ever triathlon. Then there was my Georgia friend who was formally a cyclist that was doing his first ever tri. He surprisingly did way better on the run that he had expected. And then there was Sue. This woman is amazing. She races to glorify God with Hebrews 12:1-2 written on her back. She is a mother of four with a fifth foster child. All were in attendance on Sunday. Her two oldest girls usually compete in the event but chose to run the YMCA Kid’s Triathlon on Saturday. I don’t see how she has time to train.

That is the greatest thing about the triathlon world or any active event for that matter. You meet some wonderful people. I’m sure I’ll run into Sue again. Way to go Sue. You give us all inspiration. And of course there is Bill. The 79-year old triathlete has been doing these races for years. Bill, I got you this time! I finished the final race in 1:21.29, shaving over 5 minutes off my last race. Thanks, in part, to my friend Danny Moore at Clearview AutoGlass. Danny let me borrow is “Corvette” bike for the race. Now I know what it feels like to actually pass someone (on the bike)!  Thanks Danny. You selling that bike? LOL.

Now it’s on to Kiawah where I will be training for the upcoming Kiawah Olympic Triathlon September 20, 2009. The swim is way more challenging, while the run and bike is doubled. Here we go!

I just wanted to thank my fantastic team, who not only came out to support Drew Sineath & Associates by helping to give away the bags, but for cheering me on during the race. I sure needed it toward the end during the run.  Thanks guys! I think we all had a blast. We are looking forward to doing the event next year. I also wanted to thank CSTS race coordinators Paul and Kathleen King. You guys managed another great series of races this year. Way to go guys! We are looking forward to a fifth race next year! These folks work long, hard hours and have some wonderful volunteers. Now, I know the secret of how they keep their volunteers coming back! Hey guys, maybe I’ll try that same approach! The Kings know what I’m talking about. LOL.

Please stay tuned for more info on the triathlon coming up in September. Also be on the look-out for the Drew Sineath & Associates booth at your upcoming racing events. If you have an event coming up that we can be a part of please contact Kristen Lanier at Kristen@drewsineath.com or call 843.725.1200. Till next time be safe and be blessed!

Goose Creek Real Estate Agent Completes First Ever Sprint Triathlon

Wednesday, June 24th, 2009

Holy cow what a rush!!!!!!!!! That was an awesome experience. I was told that it goes by quickly; and while it didn’t seem like it during the run, overall my first ever sprint triathlon did go by fast! I finished in 270th place out of over 350 participants. I had a blast!

This was the first of four sprint triathlons in the 19th annual Charleston Sprint Triathlon Series led by Paul and Kathleen King. Great job guys! I know what it’s like to coordinate an event. We are gearing up for our 3rd Annual Fall Festival October 24, 2009. It is time consuming but well worth it!

The race was well managed. There were folks at each corner to tell us where to go. The traffic was minimal, especially on Folly Road. And I didn’t even mind getting past by a 64-year old. But I got him at the end of the bike!!!!!!!!! I met an awesome guy towards the end of the run that I had passed earlier on the bike that almost took me on the last leg of the run. He pushed me to kick it at the end. And so I did finishing the entire race in just under 90 minutes!

Click here for more complete results.

I completed the swim in less than 14 minutes and didn’t even get eaten by an alligator. Hey! I finished the 13-mile bike in just over 41 minutes, hit the transition area for just over one minute and slowly started the run. I enjoyed the slow pace of the run finishing the 3.1-mile loop in just over 31 minutes. This is where I hope to improve on the next race! But overall I was completely satisfied with 90 minutes for my first ever tri. Everyone was very nice and helpful and I was even able to make church on time!

I am looking forward to the next race for me on August 2. Click here to register for the next race in the series on July 12.

I want to say thank you to all of you who helped me reach this great goal. April you are an amazing wife! I was so happy to see you and the kids at the finish line! You made it a very special Father’s Day! Thanks to all of the folks that I have been training with. A big shout out to Nate who finished in less than 80 minutes! Also, an even bigger shout out to the guru Dave Jones who just completed Ironman Idaho on Sunday in just over 13 hours! What an amazing accomplishment! We are very proud of you Dave! Till next time. Be Blessed!
