2010 World Cup at the Children’s Museum of the Lowcountry

Charleston Battery player and soccer instructor, Kevin Jackson, will host a weekly soccer clinic at CML for kids ages 3-7. The six-session clinic will be held on Wednesdays at 3:00 p.m. and Saturdays at 10:00 a.m. Kevin will lead (with the help of fellow Battery players) one hour of instruction, skills development and play on the front lawn at CML (off John Street). The cost of the World Cup at CML soccer clinic is $65/child for six one-hour sessions.

Riverdogs Kids Baseball Camp

Come to The Joe and learn from a future pro! Campers ages 6-13 spend the day at Joe Riley Stadium and receive specialized instruction on Pitching, Hitting, Bunting, Fielding and Base Running. The instructors include RiverDogs players, coaches and staff as well as trained professionals who work with each group on agilities and coordination for maximum performance. The cost is $150 for three days; from 9-1. There is a fourth day hitting clinic on July 30th. Campers receive a RiverDogs Camp T-Shirt (required to wear each day of camp), a goodie bag, hot dogs & chips Days 1 & 2 and Pizza on Day 3.
This is their chance to spend 3 days with the next New York Yankees.

Local woman-owned businesses Southern Protocol,Canapé and Stems are offering another “How To” entertaining class on Wednesday, June 16, 2010 with a Summer Soiree theme. The seminar will take place at Stems’ studio, 208 Coming Street,and will last from 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm.

Louie’s Kids Hosts 2nd Annual Big Chef / Little Chef Event

The event has attracted Charleston’s top chefs for this one-of-a-kind gastronomic event where guests will taste delicious culinary creations courtesy of the “big chefs” and their “little” counterparts! From 6:30 to 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 17, the twosomes will present their creations “Iron Chef” style with samples of their prepared dishes. After guests weigh in, the winners will be chosen by a few celebrity guests – Emmy Award-nominated television host, chef and author, Marvin Woods along with Biggest Loser, Season 6 finalists Heba Salama and Ed Brantley. The contestants will be judged on flavor, originality, and nutritional value of their dish.
